IPR Helpdesk guides on foreground IP and safeguarding know-how in FP7 projects

The IPR Helpdesk has published a guide on How to safeguard unprotected know-how in FP7 projects, which deals with how participants in FP7 projects should manage unprotected know-how that they plan to make available to the project. Among other things, participants in FP7 projects must adhere to various rules regarding the use of the research results generated by the projects (foreground), and must submit plans for the use and dissemination of the foreground. The IPR Helpdesk has also published guides on the Use of foreground under FP7 and on the Plan for the use and dissemination of foreground under FP7. The IPR Helpdesk is a project funded by the European Commission to provide assistance on intellectual property issues to contractors taking part in EC-funded research, including projects funded by the EC's seventh research framework programme (FP7) (see Legal update, Seventh European Research Framework Programme adopted for further details regarding FP7).
